Have you seen these before? Here are a couple of pictures, and most of u may not have seen before due to your young age.... so enjoy. The above shows some bus tickets which were used long ago when we still had bus conductors then. These conductors would have a green sling bag in which they would place the money, a stack of multi-coloured tickets as well as a stapler-looking hole-puncher. Those were the days when travelling on a public bus were not automated. These are Japanese "banana" money used during the World War 2 Japanese Occupation of Singapore from 1942 to 1945. As there were no serial numbers on them, circulation of these money, which were printed illegally, was rampant. These money eventually became valueless. After the war, many people destroyed these useless money, and thus today, "banana" money have become quite rare.

Clara drew the above picture on the whiteboard yesterday, and without the help of any picture. It was mere memory of what she watched on the telly. Wow... that is what I call great memory! I thought it was pretty well-drawn and decided to show it to you on the blog. (remember, nothing to copy from).
Touching on drawings, here is the latest update. Sherwin has thrown a challenge to Putri; and they are going to compete and decide who draws a more life-like gorilla. So stay tuned to this blog cause their masterpieces will be blogged soon.
Akan Datang~

Charmaine,
Charmel and I visited the Crocodile Farm yesterday. Incidentally, it was my first visit there although it is located about a stone's throw away from tuition.
There were crocodiles, alligators and even a sea turtle there. The shop there sells lots of crocodile products including wallets, figurines... etc. Rather educational... so do drop by the farm if you haven't been there.
Crocodiles basking in their enclosure.
Charmaine and
Charmel staring at the crocodiles in awe. hey, nothing to be scared of,
Charmel, you are safe from them. =)

Here is more news about
TM's most colourful character and
S'pore Idol wannabe, Sherwin Tan!
Today, he blatantly challenged
Charmel to a chicken rice contest at
Serangoon Central. The catch was, Sherwin would give
Charmel an impressive advantage. Listen to this, he would eat 3 plates of rice before
Charmel started eating her chicken rice while he ate his 4
th plate simultaneously! A really confident Sherwin... and here is what happened today.
Charmel and I took a picture at the start of the contest.
Sherwin does the thumb-up before he embarked on his 1st plate of dark
soya-sauced chicken rice.
He finishes it with little difficulty and started on his 2
nd plate- white chicken rice.
In the middle of consuming the 2
nd plate, he starts to feel the bloat in his tummy.
So he drinks 2 glasses of water, hoping to wash the food down. Unfortunately, the silly boy only made himself more bloated.
He started on his 3rd plate-"char
siew" rice.
Before he commences on his 4
th plate (which
Charmel will also start eating hers), he loses the confidence he starts with.
Charmel smiles, knowing that she will most likely win the contest easily.
Sherwin rubs his tummy, begging it to make space for the last plate of rice.
He admits defeat with the "LOSER" sign.
"VICTORY" sign for the eventual winner!
Haha..... poor Sherwin! Heard he went home and visited the toilet immediately!
The moral of the story is : Don't be over-confident! Do not swallow more than you can eat!

Charmel gave me a self-made card yesterday. It was specially made with lots of effort in her 4 page card. Here.... let me show you what the card looks like......
The cover of the card looks like this (above)..... using nice calligraphic writing.... skillfully done as well.
The second page- with written words to express her gratitude... Yeah, I am lucky to have a student like her too. =)
She pasted a picture of herself and me which was taken only a couple of weeks ago.
The final page of the card..... yes, I love the card so much,
Charmel.
Come to think of it, I have taught
Charmel for 8 years already (since she was in k2). Thank you so much for the best card I have ever received.

First of all, I would like to thank students, parents and guardians for their wishes and gifts.
Smses were sent to wish me and I am so glad as several ex-students, and people who were once with TM have sent me their regards as well. Really feel appreciated. Before this becomes an Academy award speech, let me proceed with what happened that day.
The secondary one group, namely,
Zhen Yong, Jeremy, Kai Cong, Kai Ming and Javier held a little celebration in the evening.
Zhen Yong's mum, Jennifer, baked a lovely Chocolate Devil and it was sinfully delicious (not forgetting fattening too).
Haha..... the boys also bought some Old Chang
Kee curry puffs, and together with some drinks from the convenient store, it was party time! Thanks you boys! =)
More pictures below.
Some of the gifts which I received by the 1st Sept.
Nick gave me a set of memo pads.... those stick-
ons which I use so often when I need to do photocopying.
Alicia and Marcus knew I need lots of these...... pens~
The sec one boys made me a simple n yet meaningful card.
The interior of the card..... nice, right? Oh yes, not just the sec ones... it was from Nelson as well... a sec 4. However, they have one thing in common.... all are from Holy Innocent's High.
It is really good to be remembered on Teachers' Day. But bear this in mind, as much as I do not want to sound so stereotype, the best gift I can get from you is good grades for your exams.
Good luck, people! And thanks again! =)
